We understand that there may be concern among many of you over whether the St Thomas’ Abseil will still be taking place on 5 June 2020.
As the situation here in the UK evolves, the health, safety and wellbeing of our supporters and staff is absolutely paramount. With government advice changing daily, we as a fundraising team are closely monitoring the advice set out by the NHS, PHE and World Health Organisation with regards to Coronavirus (Covid-19) and large events.
As one of a very few High Consequence Infectious Disease (HCID) Treatment Centre‘s in the UK, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust is at the forefront of the Coronavirus outbreak. Our fantastic doctors and nurses, as well as all the wonderful staff across our hospitals are working around the clock to care for those affected by the pandemic.
We are currently reviewing all the information and options available to us and will be in touch over the coming fortnight with updates regarding this year’s abseil event.
We are incredibly grateful for your support and patience so far and will be in touch with updates as soon as we have more information. In the meantime, please take extra care in looking after yourself and please don’t hesitate to contact the fundraising team at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns.
Be a superhero! Join us on Friday 5th June 2020 for 5th year of St Thomas' Abseil!
Grab your harness and abseil 160ft down the front of St Thomas' Hospital. Relish the rush of adrenaline as you descend. Take in unforgettable views of the Houses of Parliament, The London Eye and the 'shimmering' waters of the river Thames. Combine a thrilling and memorable challenge with raising vital funds for Evelina London. We ask all of our fearless fundraisers taking part to reach the fundraising target of £200. The money you raise will help us go above and beyond for our patients, funding life-saving research, specialist equipment and small touches that help our patients feel really cared for.
The event starts at 9:30am and there will be abseil slots available all day until 6pm.
Help make this our biggest and best St Thomas' Abseil - take part as a veteran abseiler or a newbie, fly solo or take on this challenge as a team with your friends or colleagues!
And 2020 is extra special as it is the Year of the Nurse and Midwife. Why not abseil and celebrate?
