Running for my niece – Daisy’s Story
05 October 2017
Daisy Morrish will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for Evelina London. Daisy is doing this in memory of her niece Sienna, who sadly died.
Daisy’s niece Sienna was born with a heart defect at St Thomas’ Hospital. She was transferred to Evelina London for open-heart surgery and sadly died after three weeks. This had a profound impact on Daisy.
'Rather than being depressed I wanted to completely change my attitude and do something major in her memory,' Daisy said.
Daisy decided to challenge herself in a major way by running the Royal Parks Half Marathon and honouring the life of her niece Sienna.
Daisy said that Evelina London took great care of Sienna. They provided a comfortable environment which made the family feel at home. The doctors went above and beyond for Sienna.
