Supporting patients and families

Our young patients

Find out more about some of the young patients at Evelina London and the incredible care they have received.

Charlotte's story

Charlotte was born with a heart condition which was picked up at just six weeks old. In this video, her parents talk about the world class treatment she received at Evelina London Children's Hospital and how it has changed the course of their lives.

Cissy's story

Cissy was taken onto the renal ward at Evelina London Children's Hospital in December 2010 to receive dialysis because her kidneys were failing. Eventually she required a kidney transplant and fortunately her mum was a good match, so she received her new kidney in July 2012.

Cissy and her mother talk about the special care they received from the doctors and nurses at Evelina London, and how they went 'above and beyond' to keep Cissy alive.

Cissy has received continued care at Evelina London, and in February 2014 she and her friends Hannah and Katie shaved their heads to raise money for the hospital! Cissy had undergone radiotherapy for a brain tumour, meaning she would lose her hair. So Hannah and Katie, who are both Evelina London heart patients, decided to shave their heads in solidarity.

Isaac's story

Isaac's mother talks about his two weeks of treatment in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Evelina London Children's Hospital, and the fundraising which she and her husband have done since to say thank you for helping Isaac.
